Pray for Vocations

This Season of Easter gives us the opportunities to reflect on many spiritual matters. The mystery of birth, death and the promise of Eternal Life is central and key.

How is it that we want to spend our lives as followers of the Risen Lord, Jesus Christ?

The truth is, all of us have a certain vocation, or “calling”, in faith that we have received. It can center around our family life, our work life or our outreach to the wider community in the name of Jesus.

This weekend we observe the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. Yes, we pray that more young people will consider serving the church in ordination or in professing religious vows and promises. We also can reflect on how we are all called of be of service to the Church and one another.

So many people in our parish work so diligently to make the presence of the Risen Lord known in the hearts of everyone! We can be a great example and inspiration to one another!

So let’s continue to pray for more vocations in the Church, but we also pray that each and every one of us can be sustained in the vocation to which we have been called!

And let us continue to pray for one another.
