God Bless America

This week we will celebrate the Fourth of July . . . the birthday of our country!

Fireworks are wonderful and gatherings are great, but we want to remember that our country is to stand as a beacon of freedom to all the world.

This includes, of course, our freedom to worship God.

We pray for our country, that we can be a good example to the world. The more we pray and work for peace and understanding in our own society, the more the world will see our example to be a powerful one.

As members of the Catholic Church, we have a wonderful opportunity to unite with all people of faith in this endeavor.

May God continue to bless us, and may God bless the United States of America!

And let us continue to pray for one another.
