This is Labor Day weekend. It is our opportunity to reflect of the importance of work in our lives and how it is that we provide for our families, friends and the wider community.
We believe that all we have is a gift from God. As our Creator, God has provided us with this beautiful world in which to live. But beyond this, we also know that we can be “co-creators” with God whenever we work to make our world and society a better place to live. No matter what our job or profession might be, we can continue the work of creation by seeing what we do as a part of God’s divine plan! What a powerful reality this is, especially as we reflect on our faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God!
Again, my thanks to all who are participating in our Faith, Hope and Courage parish financial recovery effort! Prayers for this outreach are so important. May we continue to be a strong presence in this community and in the wider world!
So, whether we are working full time, part time or retired, let’s remember on this Labor Day, that we are all called to work in the “Vineyard of the Lord” and to make the world around us a better place for all.
And let us continue to pray for one another.
