We welcome everyone back to the public celebration of the Mass on weekends here in the Diocese of St. Petersburg! Please know that it is still not necessary to be present at Mass each weekend if one does not feel comfortable in doing so. We want everyone to be safe!
This is the Feast of Pentecost. We traditionally think of this as the “birthday of the Church”. The Holy Spirit descended upon those gathered in the upper room and they were impelled to begin to preach the Gospel!
The word “Gospel” is Old English for “Good News”, and we surely have Good News to proclaim! Jesus Christ has died for our sins and has risen from the dead! That promise of the Resurrection is ours as well.
We are still a part of this great mission to proclaim the Gospel. As faithful disciples, we spread the love of Jesus Christ in every way we can.
May this Pentecost weekend be a time of renewal for all of us as we can now return to our weekend Masses in person.
And let us continue to pray for one another.
