The Presentation of the Lord
The Feast of the Presentation of the Lord is observed this weekend. We know that Jesus, as the Son of God, is the means of our salvation. He was presented in the traditional way in the temple in Jerusalem, but each and every day He is present in our hearts and minds as our Savior. May we live lives that also boldly present Jesus and His teachings to the world around us!
We also pray this weekend for sisters, brothers and priests who are members of religious congregations or orders. Sunday is the World Day for Consecrated Life (see prayer below). May their example and service continue to inspire us.
My thanks to all who are participating and pledging in the Annual Pastoral Appeal (APA). Our support of the Diocese of St. Petersburg is so important as we continue the work of the church in our area. We are called to “Courageously Live the Gospel”. We do so when we show generosity to all of our efforts in ministry as Catholics in our diocese.
Our faith in Christ is a powerful force for good in the world. Sometimes we can think of how our family or close friends might benefit from that
gift of faith, but we know that we belong to a wide universal Church with influence for good everywhere.
And let us continue to pray for one another.
