As we think about how we want to welcome people to our parish, we know that sometimes this can be more difficult than we might think. Those of us who have been part of the parish for a long time feel right at home, and sometimes, newcomers can be a kind of challenge.
But we are encouraged to remember that “All are welcome” in our faith community. This Saturday, we sponsored a Newcomer’s Breakfast. It is part of our attempt to reach out to others in “courageously living the Gospel” as we think of being renewed in our faith. My thanks to all who organized this and made it such a great success!
I am so happy that people feel welcomed in our parish. It lets us know that we are doing what God has asked of us . . . to welcome the stranger and to get to know those who are new.
My thanks also to our ushers and greeters at our Masses who reach out to everyone. May God continue to bless our parish with a welcoming spirit!
And let us continue to pray for one another.
