We all know that the Sacrament of the Eucharist is central to our faith. On this weekend, as we honor the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, may our appreciation grow and develop. When the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Christ, we know that He is with us in a very powerful way. Receiving Holy Communion on a regular basis helps us in our daily lives. It’s not always easy to be a faithful disciple, and this wonderful Sacrament gives us constant help and encouragement.
Also, this weekend, we say farewell to our current Parochial Vicar, Msgr. Michael Carruthers. He has been asked by Bishop Parkes to become the new administrator of Resurrection Parish in Riverview, Florida. It has been a great joy to work with Msgr. Carruthers here at St. Cecelia. I know I speak not only personally but also for our entire parish as we wish him well. Please see below for information regarding his farewell reception this Sunday!
And let us continue to pray for one another.
