Think of His Presence
Happy Mothers’ Day weekend! We ask God’s blessing on all the mothers in our parish. We also remember those mothers who have gone before us into eternal life. May God bless and reward them for their dedication and love of their families. May they always be an inspiration to us to share that same kind of love with our families and all people!
This weekend we celebrate the Feast of the Ascension. We call to mind that even though Jesus is no longer physically with us on the earth, he is with us in so many powerful ways spiritually. We can think of his presence in the Word of God, which we hear proclaimed at every Mass. We can also think of his presence in the sacraments of the Church that bring us closer to him. The Feast of the Ascension reminds us of how close Jesus wants to be to us as his disciples. Let’s always reach out to him because of his great love for us!
Congratulations also to the young people who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday morning! The Sacrament of the Body and Blood of Jesus is a special reminder of how close Jesus is to us.
May our young people continue to practice their faith and
grow in their love for God each and every day.
And let us continue to pray for one another.
