Our Ultimate Destiny

The Apostle St. Peter is highlighted in a very special way when we think of the early Church right after the Resurrection of Jesus. In this Easter Season, the teaching of St. Peter is so powerful! He and the other apostles and disciples knew Jesus as a human being….now they have experienced him as the Risen Lord. They are filled with joy and courage as they begin to spread the Gospel the “good news” of His Resurrection!

The truth is, we can be just like them. We can know that same joy and enthusiasm in our daily lives.  All we need to do is to open our hearts and souls to that grace of Jesus that He so happily wants to give us. St. Peter and the early members of the Church are a great example to us of how to live out Easter joy in our own lives. If they could do it, we can do it, that’s the idea.

This is what the Easter Season is all about. We hear of the excitement of the early believers and we can capture their spirit and joy. When we think of our ultimate destiny, to share in the New Life of Christ and to know His love and presence even after death in all eternity, it gives us an inner joy and peace that is immeasurable.

May that joy and peace be with each one of us as we continue to

celebrate this Season of Easter!

And let us continue to pray for one another.
