Divine Mercy Sunday
This weekend we celebrate the Sunday of Divine Mercy. We are truly now celebrating the Easter Season. We have a chance to reflect on the true meaning of Easter and the Resurrection of Christ and how this event has changed history and our own lives.
Sometimes we can focus so much on the death of Jesus on the cross, we can lose sight of the entire event. The Divine Mercy devotion, revealed to St. Faustina Kowalaska, is a reminder to us of the grace and forgiveness that Christ has brought to the world. Not only that, we also know that the promise of the Resurrection is personally ours! Jesus reaches out to every person with compassion and mercy. All we have to do is open our hearts to that compassion and mercy and know his friendship.
Sister Faustina wrote this, “Act in such a way that all those who come in contact with you will go away joyful. Sow happiness about you because you have received much from God; give then, generously to others. They should take leave of you with their hearts filled with joy.”
What wonderful thoughts for this Sunday of Divine Mercy weekend!
And let us continue to pray for one another.
