This is the weekend of the Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord! We remember the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem and then the tragic events of Holy Week. In the reading of the Passion Narrative, these events are recounted in great detail. As we journey with Jesus through these upcoming days of Holy Week, let’s remember that he is walking with us as well each and every day. Whatever our difficulties and challenges in life, Jesus is never far from us. Let’s be close to him this week. Please check the bulletin for the Masses, services and other events that are going to be available to us.
In the passion and death of Jesus, yes, our hearts can be saddened. We know in so many ways in the world today, how people are misunderstood and mistreated. But we can never lose sight of that virtue of hope. We also know what is going to be remembered next weekend; the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let’s always put that in perspective, even in our own lives. Whatever we might suffer, Christ has died for us and forgiven us and everyone else. Let’s quietly rejoice in that truth this week as we journey with our Lord.
May this Holy Week be a time of spiritual growth and renewal for all of us.
And let us continue to pray for one another.
