Blessed Are We

    From the Pastor

Our faith in Christ is a powerful force for good in the world. Sometimes we can think of how our family or close friends can benefit from that gift of faith, but we know that we belong to a wide universal Church with influence and good effect everywhere.

Again, we are reminded this weekend, that 2018 is a very special year for the Diocese of St. Petersburg of which St. Cecelia Parish is a part. We will be celebrating our 50th anniversary as a diocese. Since 1968, we have been an important influence for good effect in the name of Jesus in this area.

That’s why our Annual Pastoral Appeal (APA) is so important this year. This is our way of showing how we want to continue to build for the future of our diocese as we look to the past with gratitude.

This is the Commitment Weekend for the Annual Pastoral Appeal (APA). As you know, the theme this year is “Blessed Are We”. Let us truly be a blessing to one another and to our wider society by supporting the works of our parish and diocese in this important way!

And let us continue to pray for one another.

Fr. Robert J. Schneider
