Jesus made manifest to the world

This weekend we observe the Feast of the Epiphany. We know that this is a term that means "the Manifestation " of the Lord Jesus. Yes, we hear the account in Matthew's Gospel regarding the Magi, who seek the newborn King. There is so much more to this.

Jesus is made manifest to the world. The Magi represent the non-Jewish or Gentile world. In other words, all people can come to know Jesus Christ as the Son of God.

Our Jewish spiritual heritage is very important and is to always be

honored. We, as Catholics, have a high regard for the Jewish faith. But the Feast of the Epiphany reminds us that our faith in Christ is a universal or "Catholic" one. May we always respect the faiths of others.

May the Feast of the Epiphany remind us that we are all called to holiness and spiritual growth!

Jesus Christ was born to show God's love for all people.

And let us continue to pray for one another.

Fr. Robert J. Schneider

Pastor
