Go and Teach all Nations
This weekend we begin the celebration of Catholic Schools Week! We are blessed to have a fine religious education in our faith formation ministries here at St. Cecelia Parish, but we also have access to fine Catholic schools in our area. St. Cecelia Grade School and Clearwater Central Catholic High School provide wonderful ways for our young people to be educated in the tradition of our faith. It is wonderful to see the strong support these schools have in our community. Jesu

The Dignity of Human Life
In January, we emphasize our commitment to the dignity of human life from its natural beginning to natural end. We are especially concerned about the issues of abortion, euthanasia and capital punishment in our society. We believe that these realities are all related to one another because of our commitment to life from “womb to tomb”. May our efforts make a real difference in the lives of those who are dealing with these issues. Let us also continue to pray for true justice

Respect and Care For All People
We are now in what we call “Ordinary Time” in the Church year. This means that we can think of everyday, ordinary ways in which to be effectively living out faith. On Monday, January 10 we will observe Dr. Martin Luther King Day. It is a way that we can show our values of respect and care for all people to the wider community. The Baptism of the Lord
This weekend we see Jesus beginning His public ministry. He is baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. We know how the life and teachings of Jesus have so influenced the world and our history. He is the Son of God, made one of us, for just this purpose. Jesus brought the ultimate message of Salvation and Redemption to all of us! The truth is, we are still part of this ministry today.
