This weekend we observe Ecumenical Sunday. It is a time for us to consider the good we will want to have toward all people of faith. We have a special way in which we participate with other faith communities through the organization call Faith in Action for Strength Together (FAST). It is a wonderful way that we work in our community to make our cities and county better for everyone. We have worked on issues of affordable housing, reducing arrests and behavioral health. If yo

This week we have the opportunity to consider the importance of social and civil justice in our society, as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. May our observance of this holiday give us some time to pause and consider the dignity of all human beings. By respecting the rights of all people, we give honor and glory to God, who is the ultimate source of life and love. Today we see Jesus beginning his public ministry. He is baptized in the Jordon River by John. We know that the impact the teachings of Jesus have made upon the world are immense. And why not? He was the Son of God! We can all still be a part of this important public ministry of Jesus Christ. He empowers us in the Sacrament of Baptism to continue his divine work. May we be inspired this weekend to recommit ourselves to the mission of Jesus, of which all baptized believers are!
