This is Palm Sunday, beginning the week of the Passion of Our Lord! We remember the entry of Jesus in triumph into Jerusalem and then the ensuing events of Holy Week. In the reading of the Passion Narrative, these events are proclaimed in great detail. As we follow Jesus through these upcoming days, let us remember that he is always walking with us each and every day. Whatever our sorrows or joys in life, Jesus is never far away from us. Let us draw close to him this week. Please check the bulletin for the Masses, services and other events that are going to be available to us this week.
In the passion and death of Jesus, yes, our hearts can be saddened. We know that in so many ways in the world today, people are misunderstood and mistreated. But we can never lose sight of the light of hope. We know also that we are going to be remembering something wonderful next weekend…that is, the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let’s always have that positive perspective, even in our own lives. Whatever might challenge us, Jesus Christ has died for us and forgiven us and everyone else! Let’s quietly rejoice in that truth this week as we journey with our Lord.
May Holy Week be a time of spiritual growth and renewal for all of us.
And let us continue to pray for one another.
