"Go and teach all nations"

This weekend, in a special way, we are observing Catholic Schools Week. We are blessed to have not only fine religious education and faith formation ministries here at St. Cecelia Parish, but we also have access to fine Catholic schools in our area. In a particular way, St. Cecelia Grade School and Clearwater Central High School provide excellent opportunities for the education of our young people. It is wonderful to see the strong support these schools enjoy in our area.

Jesus commanded his disciples to go and teach all nations. Our support of Catholic education on all levels helps to fulfill that mandate in our present day.

We also know that we are observing the 50th anniversary of the Diocese of St. Petersburg this year. Since 1968, we have been promoting the Gospel of Jesus in so many powerful ways. Our support of the Annual Pastoral Appeal (APA) is an important part of this. The theme this year is “Blessed Are We”. We know that our Catholic schools have been a blessing to so many of our families. Let’s continue to support them and all the educational ministries of our parish and diocese!

And let us continue to pray for one another.

Fr. Robert J. Schneider

Pastor
